In 1984 Tom’s father had an accident at work falling several feet off a ladder. He hurt his back so bad that he ended up in the hospital bed ridden for over two weeks. He was told by orthopedic surgeons that surgery was inevitable and that 100% recovery was very unlikely at the time. Once he had healed up enough to return to work three weeks later, friends suggested he seek a second opinion and other alternatives. At the time he was able to function but his pain was still severe. Hoping to avoid surgery, he began seeing a Chiropractor. After several months of exercise to strengthen his spine and chiropractic treatment, the pain had finally subsided.
